In two weeks time I will be flying to Italy to join the staff at Doman International as a Naturopathic Consultant. I am really looking forward to this experience and working with families of brain injured children. My own daughter has been on their program since she was 2 years old and we are really amazed with her development. We have met some really inspiring, motivated families through this experience as well. The course works particularly well for children with trisomy 21, who are quick to achieve their milestones with support. Doman International is a holistic, integrative, neurodevelopment programme which aims to support children with special needs to achieve wellness in cognitive, physical, social and speech development. Children with a variety of diagnoses including autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, ADD/ADHD, epilepsy, brain injury, Trisomy 21 are welcome to do the program. Parents are educated through seminars and one-on-one coaching. They are provided with techniques to motivate their children to progress in the most important areas of development. The staff provide ongoing support to parents and have recently introduced a home-based program via Skype, so you can have your Follow Up visits from the comfort of your own lounge!
